Mr Henderson was appointed Chief Minister of the Northern Territory on 26 November 2007.

 

Mr Henderson first became a Minister in 2001 and since that time has worked tirelessly to develop the gas industry in the Northern Territory.

 

Mr Henderson has been instrumental in the enhancement of the Northern Territory’s relationships with key resource companies throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific.

The Hon. Martin Ferguson AM, MP, (Australian Federal) Minister for Resources and Energy

ferguson_new_imageMartin Ferguson was born in Sydney and was educated at St Patrick's, Strathfield. Prior to entering Parliament, Martin was President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) after working for the Federated Miscellaneous Workers' Union of Australia since 1975.

As president of the ACTU, Martin was a member of advisory councils and foundations including the Social Security Review, the Economic Planning Advisory Council, the National Labour consultative Council and the Advance Australia Foundation.

Ryan M Lance

Ryan M Lance, President, Exploration & Production - Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East, ConocoPhillips

ryan_lanceLance began his career with ARCO Alaska in 1984. He held a number of engineering and operations positions in Alaska before transferring in 1989 to ARCO's Bakersfield, Calif. operations. In 1992, he transferred to Midland, Texas, where he supervised ARCO's coalbed methane operations in the San Juan Basin.

He returned to Alaska in 1994 as exploration engineering manager. In 1996, he transferred to Vastar Resources in Houston as planning manager, a position he held until 1998 when he was appointed vice president of the Western North Slope for ARCO Alaska, Inc. Lance returned to Houston in 2001 as the general manager of the Lower 48 and Canada for Phillips Petroleum.

With the merger of ConocoPhillips in 2002, he became vice president, Lower 48, then president, Asia Pacific, for exploration and production in 2003. In June 2005, Lance became president, strategy, integration and specialty businesses, and was named senior vice president, technology and major projects, in April 2006, and senior vice president, technology, in February 2007.

Mark J Nolan
Mark J Nolan, Chairman, ExxonMobil Australia Pty Ltd

copy_of_mark_nolanMark J Nolan was born in June 1954 and completed his secondary education at Saint Patrick's College in Ballarat. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1975 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr Nolan joined Esso Australia Ltd in 1978, and held various engineering and operations assignments in Sale, Sydney and Long Island Point. In 1992 he became General Manager, Employee Relations based in Melbourne.

In 1994 Mr Nolan transferred to the United States to Exxon Company, International; in May 1996 was promoted to Production Manager of the New Orleans Production Organisation, responsible for Exxon's offshore Gulf of Mexico operations and onshore operations in Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida.

A leading energy thinker, Mr Stoppard has particular expertise in the international gas business and is responsible for the development and coordination of CERA's global and interregional analysis of LNG and its communication to clients.

Mr. Stoppard led CERA's entry into LNG research as Project Manager for the pioneering study The New Wave: Global LNG in the 21st Century. Earlier he was a core team member of CERA's European Gas group, developing CERA's European natural gas and power scenarios.

richard_jonesRichard H. Jones took up his duties as Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency on 1 October 2008. Ambassador Jones, a former American diplomat, brings to the IEA over thirty years of diplomatic and policy experience on issues ranging from Middle East politics to trade negotiations and energy security.

After a rapid rise through the ranks of the U.S. Foreign Service, he served as the American Ambassador to four countries: Israel (2005-2008), Kuwait (2001-2004), Kazakhstan (1998-2001) and Lebanon (1996-1998). He also acted as the U.S. Secretary of State's Senior Advisor and Co-ordinator for Iraq Policy from February-August, 2005.

His appointment follows six years as Deputy Secretary in Treasury with responsibility for domestic and international macroeconomic issues and as Deputy Secretary of the Climate Change Group in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet with responsibility for leading and coordinating implementation of the emissions trading scheme and coordinating climate change policy.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Don graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1975.

Don began his career at Mobil Corporation in the same year, staying with the company for 22 years. During his time with Mobil he held a variety of executive positions across the Corporation, including US marketing and refining roles.

copy_of_roykrzywosinskiRoy Krzywosinski is the Managing Director of Chevron Australia Pty Ltd and head of the Australasia Strategic Business Unit, located in Perth, Western Australia.

The Australasia Strategic Business Unit is responsible for Chevron's upstream oil and gas interests and activities in Australia and the Philippines. This includes the oil production operation on Barrow and Thevenard Islands, interests in the North West Shelf Venture and Browse LNG Project, managing the development of the Gorgon Project and wholly owned Wheatstone gas field in Australia, and an interest in the Malampaya Gas to Power project in the Philippines.

Prior to Mr Krzywosinski's appointment in January 2008, he held the position of President and General Manager, Chevron Project Resources Company, in Houston, Texas. In this position, Mr Krzywosinski was responsible for Chevron's project development, providing oversight for the execution of the corporation's worldwide major capital project portfolio.

keillerIn May 2002 Bob became head of UK operations for the Production Services division within Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR). Bob re-focussed the business, assessing key strengths, divesting non-core assets and improving tender success from one in ten, to nine in ten. Following this success, Bob was made Global MD of the Production Services division in 2004.

Recognising that business model for Production Services differed from the rest of KBR, (it was less capital-intensive and had a lower risk profile), Bob saw the opportunity to spin out the division. Bob secured over $400m (US) of funding from the Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance and on 1st May 2006 created PSN through an award-winning $280million (US) management-buy-out.

Since the origination of the deal, Bob has overseen a 20 per cent growth in the business with EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) several million dollars ahead of plan. PSN has also created over 2500 new jobs globally and now employs a network of 8,500 people, working in over 20 countries, across five continents. Bob's charismatic leadership style, technical operational experience and outstanding commercial acumen has lead the creation of a company with turnover over $1 billion and an order book worth more than $2 billion.

The Hon Ian Macfarlane MP
The Hon Ian Macfarlane MP, Shadow Minister for Energy & Resources

ian_macfarlane_no_jacketwebPrior to entering Parliament, Mr Macfarlane was a farmer and was also the President of the Queensland Graingrowers Association (1991-1998). He has been an executive member of the Queensland and National Farmers Federation as well as President of the Grains Council of Australia (1994-1996).

Mr Macfarlane was elected to the House of Representatives as the member for the regional seat of Groom, Queensland, in 1998 and 2001. He lives in the major city of that electorate, Toowoomba. In January 2001 he was sworn in as the Minister for Small Business in the Employment, Workplace Relations and Small Business portfolio. On 26 November 2001 he became the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources. Following the October 2004 election, Mr Macfarlane retained the portfolio responsibilities for Industry, Tourism and Resources.

kikerMr. Joel Kiker is Vice President, ExxonMobil Development Company, an ExxonMobil Subsidiary, with responsibility for worldwide drilling and completions operations.

Mr Kiker started his career with Exxon in 1976 as a civil engineer. In the early part of his career he held various engineering, planning, supervisory and management positions, including Exxon USA Crude Oil Manager, Production Manager for Alaska, and affiliate advisor to Malaysia and Australia.

In 1998 Mr Kiker was named Technology Manager for Exxon Company, U.S.A. responsible for geoscience and engineering. He became the Global Subsurface Engineering Manager for ExxonMobil in 2000. In 2002, he became Drilling Operations Manager, ExxonMobil Development Company and was named Global Drilling Manager in 2005. Mr. Kiker was named to his current position of Drilling Vice President in January, 2007.

Mr. Kiker has a lovely wife, Karen, of 33 years and three grown children that he cherishes. A native of Texas, Mr. Kiker holds a Civil Engineering Degree from Texas A&M University.

Joe has more than 27 years of service with Halliburton. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. He also earned a Master of Science in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.

He has also held various engineering, strategy and management positions with Schlumberger, McKinsey & Co and Pilkington Glass.

In 1996 he commenced his investment banking career with JB Were (now Goldman Sachs JB Were) where he became a top rated Energy Analyst prior to moving into funds management and subsequently founded his own consulting practice specialising in advising emerging companies.
